Background of Faculty of Education 

The Faculty of Education, established on 1st July 1961 (B.E. 2504), was the second faculty of MCU. For the first two decades, this faculty was in charge of four departments, namely, Department of Education, Department of Psychology, Department of Library and Department of Science and Mathematics. However, in 1983 (B.E. 2526), the faculty adjusted and reduced its departments to three, namely, Department of Educational Administration, Department of Curriculum and Teaching Social Studies and Department of Non-formal Education. 

Currently, the Faculty of Education offers secondary education, certificate, graduate diploma, master, and doctoral degrees in charge of three departments, namely, Department of Papariyattidhamma and Moral Education, Department of Educational Administration and Sangha Affairs, and Department of Curriculum and Teaching.

Objectives

1) To provide education for monks, novices, and general people or practitioners in education to increase academic standing and knowledge which will lead to the dissemination of Buddhism and development of society in the teaching profession.

2) To produce educational personnel with admirable conduct and practice as well as becoming a leader in mind and wisdom in order to be in accordance with the National Scheme of Education.

3) To promote and disseminate academic knowledge to temples, communities, and society.

4) To apply new technologies in the teaching profession, administration, services, and research. 

Goals

1) Graduates with all-round knowledge in curriculum and the teaching based on the Buddhist doctrines integrated with other teaching sciences

2)  To be a learning source and excellence in research. As well as to develop the curriculum and teaching in Buddhism integrated with modern science.

3) To build strength and become a leader in the teaching profession according to the Buddhist way sustainably.

4) To develop graduates with admirable conduct and practice, to become a leader in mind and wisdom, to have capability in problem-solving, to catch up with the change in the society, to have a broad vision with open-mindedness, to have potentials in developing oneself with morality and ethics, to devote oneself for Buddhism, and to make sacrifice for the community at large.

5) To realize the values of art, cultures, and traditions. To restore, inherit, promote, and preserve the Thai identity and folk wisdom.
