Thai Community in Norway Attends the 100-Day Royal Merit-Making Ceremony (Sattamawara) Dedicated to HRH Princess Bajrakitiyabha at Wat Thai Norway

OSLO, Norway — 18 September 2026, The monastic community, the Royal Thai Embassy in Oslo, and the Thai community residing in Norway jointly held a merit-making ceremony featuring Buddhist chanting and meditation. The ceremony was organized to humbly commemorate and dedicate merit to Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha on the occasion of the 100-day royal merit-making ceremony (Sattamawara).


The religious rites took place at Wat Thai Norway in Oslo. The ceremony was kindly presided over by Phra Ratchawachirasanawithet, Abbot of Wat Thai Norway and President of the Union of Thai Dhammaduta in Europe (UTDE), who served as the monastic chair. He was joined by a congregation of senior monks, including Phra Brahmawatcharatheeracharn, Prof. Dr., Rector of Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University (MCU), Phra Thepvajarasarabundit, Assoc. Prof. Dr., Vice-Rector for Planning and Development; and Phra Sriwatcharasarabandit, Asst. Prof. Dr., Dean of the Faculty of Education, who co-officiated the religious proceedings.


Representing the laity, Ms. Nithiwadee Manitkul, an official of the Royal Thai Embassy in Oslo, led the embassy staff and Thai Buddhists residing in Norway, who gathered in unison to participate in the event.


The atmosphere throughout the ceremony was serene and deeply respectful. Attendees united in Buddhist chanting and meditation, demonstrating their unwavering loyalty and profound gratitude for Her Royal Highness's benevolence, thereby dedicating merit to HRH Princess Bajrakitiyabha with the highest honor.
